R.I.P. JOHN

maybe in the not too distant future we could try and sort out some type of memorial with the wetlands bosses for him possibly a plaque or something ? put up at the meet ?

Thas a good idea, we also thinking of a John Burnett memorial ride every year to raise money for the wetlands, was going to put this to the members later to see what they all think?

As you all know if it wasn`t for John this site let alone the meet wouldn`t exist and I for one will be eternally grateful to him for that. Not just for the business but for all of the lovely people we have met over the last few years he will never forgotten. As with everyone else my thoughts go to Harriot and Johns family as do everyone at Jax. I have been in touch with the wildfowl and we have been toying with the idea of perhaps having a memorial bench with a plaque placed somewhere in the wildfowl itself. Up to now this is just thinking so if any of you have any other ideas I would willingly throw them in the hat with this one and see what suits best. Again if I hear anything else I will let you know.

I agree John was a nice bloke and I have been going to the wetlands since he started it. In that time I have met some great people who have become friends.

I personally vouch for anything practical and long-lasting like a bench with plaque, rather than flowers. A bench would last much longer and be useful at the same time.

I hope people can keep to the rules and respect the wetlands meet - it would be more of a shame than ever if we lost it.

Up to now the funeral for John is going to be Monday but a few of the details need to be sorted out. Johns daughter Kelly is coming to the bike meet tomorrow evening along with Leanne from the wildfowl and they will announce all details there. Harriot says it would be really nice if John could have a bike escort on his last Journey so if you are going could you let us know just for numbers as the police will probably have to be informed. See you all tomorrow.
